NURSE CONTRIBUTIONS IN PATIENT SELF-CARE WITH MULTI-RESISTANT TUBERCULOSIS IN PRIMARY HEALTH CARE

Abstract

The Tuberculosis is an infectious and transmissible disease that primarily affects the lungs, although it can affect other organs and/or systems. The disease is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis or Koch's bacillus. Tuberculosis (TB) remains a serious public health problem worldwide, despite the advances made in disease control in recent years. The so-called multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDRTB), caused by bacteria that do not respond to two of the main drugs used in the treatment, isoniazid and rifampicin. Objective: To understand the actions of nurses in the self-care of patients with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis. Methodology: The descriptive research was carried out through a narrative bibliographical review based on secondary works that address the subject in question, published from 2017 to 2023. The collection of material for the research was carried out from August 2022 to August 2022. 2023. Identical works, repeated on different bases, were eliminated, their first registration was considered. Conclusion: This research enabled the understanding of nurses' actions in the self-care of patients with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis, thus achieving the proposed objectives.
