Abstract

The work is characterized as a cross-sectional observational study, with the objective of analyzing the anatomical variations of the bile ducts through percutaneous cholangiography performed on patients at a tertiary health unit in the city of Juazeiro-BA. The study was carried out by collecting data from medical records, of which 12 were discarded and 16 were selected. Among the anatomical variations observed, around 68.7% had type A bile duct, 6.2% type B and 18.7% type C. It was not possible to visualize and characterize the type of 6.2 bile duct. %, due to compression by amorphous mass, making anatomical analysis unfeasible. Knowing the anatomy of the bile ducts and their variations is extremely important during surgery to avoid iatrogenic causes of bile duct injury, in addition to avoiding future postoperative complications.
