Abstract

This paper presents the results of research conducted within the Graduate Program in Teaching, Language, and Society (PPGELS) at the State University of Bahia (UNEB). It details the application of an Educational Technical-Technological Product (PTTE)—specifically a "Geocultural Atlas of the *Reiseiros* in the Municipality of Caetité, Bahia"—with 3rd-year students (Class B) of the Technical Course in Administration at the Integrated Complex for Basic, Vocational, and Technological Education of Caetité (CIEBTEC). The objective was to utilize mapping in the classroom, based on this Geocultural Atlas, to recognize cultural manifestations—specifically the *Ternos de Reis* (traditional folk performance groups)—thereby valuing the knowledge and practices of these groups and highlighting their relevance and sense of belonging within the culture of Caetité. A qualitative approach was adopted, involving both bibliographic and field research. The analysis drew upon authors who address the themes of experience-based reporting, culture, social cartography, and geography education, which together form the theoretical framework for this study. The results indicate that the students possess a grasp of basic cartographic elements and are able to use them as tools for orientation and locating features. Furthermore, they recognize and value the cultural manifestations present in their municipality, city, neighborhoods, and communities—including the *Ternos de Reis* groups. It is concluded that the Geocultural Atlas serves as a tool for both the dissemination and the resistance of *Ternos de Reis* groups. Moreover, it contributes to the valorization of individuals—socially constituted through habits, customs, and traditions passed down across generations—who incorporate elements specific to their particular time, space, territory, and place.
