The objective of this study was to analyze the temporal trend and the profile of hospitalizations and deaths of elderly individuals due to mental disorders in the state of Amazonas between 2008 and 2025, using secondary data from DATASUS (SIH and SIM). The methodology adopted an ecological descriptive design with time series analysis. The results recorded 561 hospitalizations during the period, with a predominance of the 60 to 69 age group (69%) and a higher prevalence of schizophrenia, schizotypal, and delusional disorders (F20-F29; 195 cases). The monthly linear trend analysis (R²) was critically low, indicating strong seasonal variation. In contrast, 510 deaths due to underlying causes were mapped, showing exponential growth starting in 2020 and reaching a peak of 62 deaths in 2025. A severe geospatial centralization was identified in the capital, Manaus, which concentrated 283 deaths (55.5% of the total). It is concluded that the flow of hospitalizations responds to acute seasonal peaks of crises, while mortality reveals an alarming increase in the last decade, reinforcing the urgent need for decentralization and strengthening of the Psychosocial Care Network (RAPS) along the river basins in the interior of the state.
