THE ROLE OF THE MILITARY POLICE IN ENVIRONMENTAL CRIMES: ENVIRONMENTAL MILITARY POLICE BATTALION

Abstract

The objective of this study was to examine the actions of the Military Police in the context of environmental protection and combating environmental crimes. The methodology involved a literature review on environmental protection, environmental crimes and the actions of the Military Police, using an exploratory and descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. The results of the study showed that the role of the Military Police in preserving public order includes preserving a balanced environment, and therefore also acts in the environment, monitoring actions against the environment, simultaneously with the dissemination of environmental education that guides society towards the benefit of preserving and protecting the environment. It is concluded that the role that the Environmental Police Battalion (Green Force) has played in ensuring the preservation and maintenance of the environment in the state of Paraná has brought positive results.
