Hydatidosis (echinococcosis) is a zoonosis that occurs in two main forms: cystic hydatidosis (also known as echinococcosis) caused by Echinococcus granulosus and polycystic hydatidosis, caused by Echinococcus vogeli and Echinococcus oligarthrus. This study reports the case of a previously healthy 6-year-old male preschool patient who sought hospital care due to swelling in the left maxillary region, with evolution of 3 months, associated with ocular proptosis on the same side. The main objective of this report is to describe the clinical presentation, diagnosis and treatment of a patient affected by this rare condition, with the aim of expanding knowledge about the disease, its specific manifestations and the diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Furthermore, it aims to highlight the importance of early diagnosis, adequate management and possible complications associated with maxillary hydatidosis, contributing to awareness among health professionals and improving the clinical approach to similar cases in the future.
