Resumen

This article analyzes the contemporary migration of Black African women to Brazil as a phenomenon that critically reactualizes the African diaspora in the 21st century. From a historical and intersectional perspective, the study examines the specific conditions faced by these women, marked by triple marginalization (gender, race, and migratory status), which manifests itself in precarious employment, barriers to access to healthcare, and complex dynamics of intra-racial solidarity and tension. However, this work goes beyond mapping vulnerabilities to highlight the agency and active resistance of these migrants. Through strategies such as cultural entrepreneurship, the creation of transnational support networks, and the use of digital platforms, they forge new modes of belonging and re-existence. These practices are interpreted as concrete expressions of an active and collective “social hope,” a projective force that not only ensures survival but also reconfigures identities, redefines the terms of integration, and points towards decolonial futures. The article concludes that the trajectories of these women constitute a powerful vector for social transformation, demanding public policies that recognize their agency and promote a dialogical integration with Brazilian society.
