Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a gastrointestinal tract disorder characterized by abdominal pain, distension, bloating, and changes in bowel movement patterns. It is a highly prevalent condition worldwide, estimated to affect between 3% and 25% of the population, varying according to the diagnostic criteria used, and is more frequently diagnosed in women. Factors such as stress, inadequate diet, and alterations in the gut microbiota are associated with the onset and worsening of symptoms. In this context, diet has been considered an important strategy in managing the disease, particularly a low-FODMAP diet, which helps reduce gastrointestinal discomfort. This study aimed to develop an educational booklet on the role of diet in controlling Irritable Bowel Syndrome. This was a qualitative, descriptive study conducted through a literature review of scientific databases, considering articles published between 2020 and 2025. As a result, an educational booklet was developed with clear and accessible information on nutrition and healthy habits, contributing to symptom control and improving the quality of life of patients.
