Abstract

Introduction: Work-related mental disorders (WRMD) constitute an important public health problem and are associated with working conditions, work organization, and occupational psychosocial factors. Surveillance of these conditions through the Information System for Notifiable Diseases (SINAN) enables the characterization of affected workers and the identification of epidemiological patterns. Objective: To analyze the epidemiological profile of WRMD reported in the state of Alagoas between 2015 and 2025. Methods: This was an ecological, quantitative, and descriptive study based on data from SINAN, made available by the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System (DATASUS). WRMD notifications in Alagoas from 2015 to 2025 were analyzed according to sex, race, educational level, occupation, specific diagnosis, issuance of the Work Accident Report (CAT), and case outcome. Results: A total of 1,040 cases were identified, with the highest number of notifications in 2022 (n=163) and the lowest in 2015 (n=15). There was a slight predominance of males (51.25%). Brown individuals accounted for 30.19% of notifications. The 20–39-year age group accounted for 51.83% of cases, followed by the 40–59-year group (44.23%). Among occupations, Military Police soldiers and sergeants were the most frequent, accounting for 22.50% and 5.38% of cases, respectively. The ICD diagnostic group F40–F48 was the most frequent, followed by F30–F39. CAT was issued in 6.63% of cases, while 55.29% had no CAT issued. Regarding case outcome, 59.33% resulted in temporary incapacity. Conclusion: WRMD notifications in Alagoas showed a predominance of males, concentration among economically active adults, and a higher frequency among Military Police personnel. The low rate of CAT issuance and the predominance of temporary incapacity highlight the importance of improving notification quality and strengthening surveillance and mental health care actions for workers.
