Abstract

This document details a study on the use of melengestrol acetate (MGA) in the efficiency of Fixed-Time Artificial Insemination (FTAI) in cattle. The main goal of this analysis was to explore the effectiveness of using melengestrol acetate in the efficiency of Fixed-Time Artificial Insemination in cattle. To achieve this goal, the following detailed objectives were defined: to analyze the efficacy of MGA in synchronizing the estrous cycle in cattle, to evaluate the conception rates resulting from the use of MGA in FTAI, to compare the reproductive efficiency of different cattle breeds subjected to the MGA protocol, and to investigate the impacts of nutritional status and body condition of cattle on the response to MGA. The strategy adopted to fulfill these objectives involved examining relevant texts and evaluating information obtained from secondary resources. The study found that MGA significantly improves the synchronization of the estrous cycle and conception rates in different cattle breeds and determined that body condition and nutritional status are critical factors for maximizing the effectiveness of MGA. The final reflections underscore the need to continue investigations on the subject to enrich existing understanding and encourage future advancements.
