The aim of this study was to reflect on the Nursing Process and its implications for patient safety in a surgical clinic. This is a reflection based on theoretical assumptions and scientific literature on the subject. Patient safety aims to achieve quality of care in hospital institutions. The Nursing Process constitutes a methodological instrument and a valuable technology to be used to ensure safety within the context of nursing practices. However, it must be implemented with quality and in its entirety, aligned with institutional objectives, in order to promote patient safety.
