Dengue is currently considered the most important arbovirus in the world and one of the main challenges in public health, due to its high morbidity and mortality rates, especially in tropical countries such as Brazil. This study aims to outline the epidemiological profile of patients hospitalized for dengue in the city of Cascavel, Paraná, from January to December 2024. This is a descriptive epidemiological study with a quantitative approach, based on the analysis of data obtained by DATASUS (Department of Information Technology of the Unified Health System). The results indicated a higher incidence of hospitalizations among young and female patients, in addition, low education is also an associated factor. Although most cases evolved to cure, the lethality among patients diagnosed with severe forms of dengue was significant, highlighting the need for improvements in clinical management. It is concluded that prevention strategies, improvement of health infrastructure and access to health services are essential to reduce the impact of dengue on the population.
