The care of polytraumatized patients in stabilization rooms requires rapid and precise decision-making, with nurses playing a central role in promoting patient safety. This study aims to analyze the nurse’s role in the management of polytraumatized patients in emergency units, highlighting their contribution to improving care quality and preventing risks. Methodologically, this is an integrative literature review with a qualitative approach, based on the PRISMA protocol. Data collection was conducted in the BVS and PubMed databases, covering the period from 2021 to 2026. Controlled descriptors (DeCS/MeSH) combined with the Boolean operator AND were used, resulting in a final sample of 15 scientific articles. Data processing and organization were based on Bardin’s Content Analysis technique. The results showed that nurses play a fundamental role in initial assessment, continuous monitoring, implementation of care protocols, and coordination of the multidisciplinary team, directly contributing to the reduction of adverse events and improvement of care quality. Permanent education, continuous training, and effective communication were also identified as essential strategies for strengthening safe practices in trauma care. However, challenges such as work overload, shortage of professionals, and structural limitations still compromise healthcare assistance. It is concluded that nursing performance is indispensable for promoting safe, humanized, and evidence-based care in stabilization rooms.
