EDUCATION AND BIOSAFETY: STRATEGIES FOR PREVENTION AND HEALTH PROMOTION IN THE EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT

Abstract

This article aimed to analyze biosafety strategies in schools as instruments for prevention and health promotion, discussing the importance of care as an educational principle. The research, qualitative in nature and characterized as bibliographic, was based on studies published between 2018 and 2025, retrieved from databases such as SciELO, Google Scholar, and CAPES Journals, focusing on works in Portuguese. The analysis followed Bardin’s (2016) thematic analysis framework, which made it possible to identify four main categories: the interdependence between education and health; teacher training and the culture of prevention; the structural conditions of schools; and pedagogical actions aimed at promoting health. The results show that biosafety goes beyond technical aspects and assumes an ethical and pedagogical dimension related to the construction of safe and healthy learning environments. It is concluded that continuous teacher training, community engagement, and support from public policies are essential to consolidate a culture of care and shared responsibility within educational institutions.
