Abstract

Obesity and overweight are very common clinical conditions in contemporary society, because, in “high tech” times, individuals tend to stay long entertained with digital tasks and the use of technological media. Thus, they are exposed to long periods without physical activity and consuming foods with a high caloric concentration and low nutritional content. Knee pains and / or injuries are very common in people who are overweight and idle. The present article then intends to briefly review some authors who described this topic, trying to denote the relationship between obesity, lack of physical exercise and the occurrence of knee injuries.
