Abstract

The abstract of this analytical article that examines the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in gram-negative bacteria and new therapeutic approaches provides a succinct and informative overview of the main conclusions of the study. Antimicrobial resistance is a growing global concern, driven primarily by the ongoing evolution of resistance mechanisms in gram-negative bacteria. This study investigated a wide range of resistance mechanisms, including the production of enzymes such as beta-lactamase, modifications in antibiotic targets, and active efflux systems. These mechanisms give bacteria the ability to avoid the action of antibiotics, compromising the effectiveness of treatments. However, the study also emphasizes the emergence of new therapeutic approaches to address bacterial resistance. Combined therapy, the use of phages, genetic editing and therapy based on monoclonal antibodies are promising alternatives to overcome resistance mechanisms and restore the effectiveness of treatments. These strategies open new perspectives for the development of more effective therapies. Concluding remarks highlight the need for a comprehensive approach to addressing antibiotic resistance, including the development of new antibiotics, the implementation of preventive measures, education on the prudent use of antibiotics, and collaboration between different health and research sectors. . Antibiotic resistance poses a critical threat to public health, and continued research and coordinated action are essential to ensure effective treatments and protect the health of the population. In summary, this article provides a comprehensive overview of the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in gram-negative bacteria, highlighting new therapeutic approaches being investigated to address this challenge. Understanding these mechanisms and developing innovative therapeutic strategies are essential to deal with the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance.
