SCHOOL MANAGEMENT AND PEDAGOGICAL COORDINATION: STRATEGIC ROLE IN THE CONSOLIDATION OF QUALITY EDUCATION TODAY

Resumo

School management and pedagogical coordination play a strategic role in consolidating an education committed to teaching quality, equity, and the comprehensive development of students. The profound social, cultural, technological, and educational transformations of recent decades have expanded the responsibilities of school principals and pedagogical coordinators, requiring competencies related to leadership, planning, innovation, and the mediation of teaching and learning processes. This study aims to analyze, through a narrative literature review, the main challenges faced by school management and pedagogical coordination in the educational context of the twenty-first century, considering aspects such as democratic management, continuing teacher education, digital technologies, inclusive education, school-community relationships, and educational quality. The research is based on national and international scientific literature as well as official Brazilian educational documents. The findings indicate that strengthening school management and pedagogical coordination depends on collaborative practices, appreciation of education professionals, critical use of digital technologies, participatory planning, and public policies that promote institutional development. It is concluded that integrated action between school managers and pedagogical coordinators is fundamental to meeting contemporary educational demands and fostering democratic, innovative, and learning-centered school environments.
