THE LAW AND THE JUDICIALIZATION OF HEALTHCARE IN TOCANTINS

The right to health, constitutionally guaranteed, has been the subject of increasing judicialization in the state of Tocantins, reflecting social and institutional demands for the implementation of public policies. The objective of the article is to analyze the impacts of health judicialization in Tocantins, identifying its effects on management and access to services. The methodology used was to conduct a bibliographic and documentary review, as well as to examine judicial decisions related to the topic. The results showed that judicialization expanded access to medicines and treatments, but also revealed challenges in the organization of the health system and the sustainability of public policies.
