NURSING CARE IN THE PREVENTION AND MONITORING OF ADOLESCENT PREGNANCY

Abstract

This article aimed to analyze scientific evidence regarding nursing care in the prevention and monitoring of adolescent pregnancy. This is an integrative literature review conducted in six methodological stages, with searches carried out in the Virtual Health Library (BVS), SciELO, and Google Scholar databases. Descriptors related to adolescent pregnancy, nursing care, and primary health care were used and combined through the Boolean operator AND. Initially, 74 studies were identified, of which 11 met the established inclusion criteria and were published between 2016 and 2025. The results showed that nursing practice in primary health care plays a fundamental role in preventing early pregnancy and monitoring pregnant adolescents. Among the main strategies identified are educational activities, guidance on sexual and reproductive health, counseling on contraceptive methods, and prenatal follow-up. It is concluded that nursing care significantly contributes to health promotion, prevention of gestational risks, and strengthening the bond between adolescents and health services, highlighting the importance of comprehensive care in adolescent health.
