HORMONAL DOSAGE FOR THE TREATMENT OF ENDOMETRIOSIS

Abstract

Endometriosis is a chronic benign disease that affects 10% of women of reproductive age and 3 to 5% of women after menopause. A tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus causing pain, dysmenorrhoea, cramps, constipation and in some cases infertility. The treatment options are chosen by the professional individually. Among them, we have the option of hormonal dosage or surgical treatment. This study is a bibliographic review that aims to describe hormonal dosage and endometriosis, signs, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, and highlight the importance of the role of diagnostic professionals in this type of treatment, as endometriosis makes changes to the quality of life of patients. Professionals certified to deal with this disease are an important tool in improving the physical and emotional condition of each patient affected by the disease.
